Day Seven will be Friday, May 1 at the Greenville Town Common at 7pm. Day Seven is a city-wide gathering of Jesus-followers to worship in unity and pray for our city with guest speaker Clark Stallings and music by Beaty Bass, Matthew & Shepard Lilley and more. The FREE event is open to all ages, races and church denominations.

Day Seven is what we consider a "solemn assembly" based on Joel 2...

"Even now," declares the LORD, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning. Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the LORD your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity. Who knows? He may turn and have pity and leave behind a blessing…Blow the trumpet in Zion, declare a holy fast, call a sacred assembly. Gather the people, consecrate the assembly; bring together the elders…” (Joel 2:12-16)

The results of this solemn assembly are that God pours our His spirit! This is what happened at Pentecost in Acts 2, and that is what we believe will happen at Day Seven.

Part of the passage above tells us to "gather the people". This is a biblical command we take seriously, and we are working hard to gather as many people as possibly. But we need your help. Please respond to this call in Joel 2 and help us mobilize believers to come to Day Seven to worship, fast and pray. Greenville needs it!

We have no other motives for promoting this event other than to lift up the name of Jesus in our city. We will not promote any particular church or ministry. No other events will be announced. No merchandise will be sold. No collections will be taken. Day Seven is about Jesus – lifting Him up in worship, returning to him with repentance, crying out to him for our city in prayer and sharing His good news to the lost. The Money Stuff : Look What God Did....

In a previous letter I shared with you our need for about $3400 to cover the costs for Day Seven 2009. Well by the grace of God and the generosity of others we have reduced our costs to less than $700!

* Discovery Church and Youthquake are donating sound equipment for us to use (worth thousands of dollars).
* Hope of Glory Ministries is printing posters and postcards for us (worth hundreds of dollars). We are mailing posters to local churches and nearly 800 postcards to our mailing list.
* Thanks to those who have made donations to help us cover costs (hundreds of dollars)!

Our only remaining costs are postage for our mailings and a $50 noise permit from the city of Greenville. WOOHOO! God is an awesome provider.
