Basic Info
The internship will be 12 weeks of “secret place” ministry to the Lord (Acts 13:2, Matthew 6:1-17) where young adults can develop disciplines to root them in a lifestyle of encounter with God. They will be trained in sound doctrine through classes in the Paradigm School of Ministry and in devotional Bible study in the prayer room atmosphere. There will be service opportunities including leading corporate prayer, worship leading & music, media/technology and administration. The internships are named after the “secret place” of prayer, fasting and giving described by Jesus in Matthew 6 that gains the rewards of the Father:1 “Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven.This internship will be for:
6 But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
17 But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, 18 so that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
- Those who feel a call as a prayer missionary. The internship would be a required “on ramp” for those who want to be “Annas” (Luke 2:36-38) on staff at the Boiler Room.
- Those who want to study and practice the concept of day and night prayer.
- Any young adult who desires to consecrate themselves to God in a season of more intensive prayer, fasting and ministry.
Schedule
The schedule is designed for interns to be able to utilize theirs nights and weekends for a job or school classes.
Breakdown of Hours
14 hours Prayer Room (Morning Prayer + 6:22 + 2 hours)
4 hours Classes
4 hours Helps (6:22 Setup/cleanup + 2 hours of service)
2 hours Internship Meeting
24 total hours/week
Costs
The total cost for the internship will be $250.
(This does not include application fee or administrative costs associated with fundraising).
The total costs must be paid in full by the first day of the internship – no exceptions. The cost will cover Paradigm classes & books, monthly trips, 6:22 shirt/CDs and participation in the internship.
Within two weeks of acceptance into the internship, a $50.00 non-refundable deposit is required. This deposit confirms your intent to attend the internship. This will go towards the total cost.
Personal Expenses & Housing
Each intern must have sufficient funds to cover any personal expenses that they may incur throughout the duration of the internship, including food and
housing. At this time in our growth as a house of prayer, we are not able to supply housing for interns. Out of city interns must find their own
housing arrangements; you will have to have a place to live before the internship starts, because we will not be able to help you once you are here.
