Friday Nights

Friday night worship is the hub of all 6:22 activity. Groups will drive from all over eastern North Carolina to experience the unique, passionate, freeing worship environment at 6:22. You really have to experience it for yourself!

Basic Info:

Join us every Friday from 7-9pm at the Boiler Room starting September 3, 2010!
(Check the Boiler Room Calendar for cancellations, changes, etc.)

What can I expect?

  • There are a few couches, a few chairs, lots of artwork on the walls, and an open space up near the band for people to have space to move around and dance (like a concert venue).
  • There will be high school and college students (and a few young-at-heart adults) from various churches or affiliations.
  • There is a live band and the music is LOUD. Expect it to sound more like Switchfoot concert than a "praise band". The music usually goes continuously for a few hours straight.
  • Worship does not stop after three songs. We linger for hours in God's presence, and allow the gathering to continue as long as God's spirit leads us.
  • The lyrics to the songs are up on a screen so everyone can sing together. There are also frequently times of musical interludes or spontaneous songs that emerge on the spot. Try to imagine a jam band led by the Holy Spirit.
  • There is usually not preaching or teaching. However, band members or other 6:22 staff may share on the microphone throughout the night - a challenging exhortation, a Bible passage, a prophetic word or a prayer. Sometimes this is planned in advance and sometimes God's spirit stirs it in the moment.
  • People move, dance, sing loudly, shout, kneel, lay down, pray, clap their hands, lift their hands, laugh and cry. We encourage these biblical expressions of praise and worship.
  • There may be an artist with a canvas painting somewhere in the room.
  • Paper, pens, note cards, chalk, string and other supplies are provided for you to write down things God speaks to you, draw visions, share prayer requests or post Scripture/prayer on the walls.
